Baseball in Korea

While there are no Toronto Blue Jays in Korea -- there is the Doosan Bears baseball team. Damon and I went to a Doosan Bears game this past Sunday and we had a good time. This is my new team, even if we are 5 games below .500 and in second last place. And to get the score out of the way - we lost 3-1 to the Hanhwa Eagles.

The admission is 7000 won and all seats are general admission. 2000 won for banging sticks -- the Koreans really get into this complete with certain chants for different players. I always said that baseball always needed cheerleaders between innings and Korea is up for it. When pitchers are warming up the girls out dancing. The guy in the middle has a whistle and gets the crowd going and we all bash our thunder sticks while our team is up at bat.
The best thing is that they don't rip you off at the concession -- everything is the same price it would normally be outside the park -including products such as shirts and signed baseballs. I bought a signed Doosan Bears Ball with a very gloosy picture of the players and team logo for 3000 won. Heck a regular plain baseball costs about that. We're going to try and see a soccer game over here as well.
Cheers for now everyone.
