Some class photos.

This is a picture of my class at lunch time. In the morning they hand in their tin food trays and get a nice hot meal every day. Usually some sort of soup and rice with some side dishes. I have a jobs chart in my classroom so one student has a task to do each week. One student is assigned water so they must fill the other students' cups with water. Gee I have 9 students and 9 jobs -- funny how that works eh?

This is a photo of my class after performig in the bi-annual Quiz Contest. The parents come to see their kids in the hot seat as I ask them questions as simple as "where would you find a sink at Kid's College" to "What are the earth's sister planets?" Not bad considering they are 5. I awarded one point for a right answer and 2 points if they could say their right answer in a full sentence. They all did pretty well and I was quite proud of them. They were barely saying anything in sentences two months ago. If they had a sore arm they would point to their arm and say "Me ouch!" Now they are saying "My arm hurts." hahaha -- does not really help their arm much but their English is getting better :-)

In other news:
Things have been going well. I was considering a vacation to Russia with a fellow I work with but the price is just a bit too high. I am now planning to go to the Philippines for my week vacation in late July. The dollar is very strong in the Philippines. I am exercising and eating better after buying tons of food from Costco. If I want to buy any clothes here I have to lose the pounds hahaha. I went to one place and they said we have nothing that will fit you -- wow talk about a motivator!! The women here probably think a size 4 is gigantic. Luckily, I did manage to find some sandals in Itaewon. I met a nice fellow from England who was in trying to find a size 13 so I figured that I should look around. I may go windsurfing with him and another fellow I met from Courtney, BC., (small world).

Some teachers are leaving over the next little while. Vickey is leaving on the 16th and Chris, our head teacher, is leaving July 3rd. My roomate is leaving July 17th. Consideing we only have 8 teachers there is a lot of turnover in staff.

The weather is getting much warmer and the sticky and humidity levels are rising -- the air conditioners at work are seeing more air time. Still it's nice and it barely ever rains (cheap shot - I kinda miss the rain).

I'm heading out with some folks to see a movie. The pickins are slim here, we only get the big blockbuster American films or some of the horror flicks. We've been out to see "Poseidon", a movie where the initial script should have been connected to a large stone and sent to the bottom of the ocean before anybody decided to make it into a movie. "Me ouch" as I point to my brain.

Well, Cheers for now everyone.
