February 24th 2007 Update.
I am now into my last working days at Kid's College. My Kindergarten kids graduate on Monday the 26th and the next two days we will be cleaning up the classrooms. March 1st, St. David's Day, is a holiday in Korea (though sorry mom, not because they are celebrating St. David's Day). That is my vacation and back to work on Friday at my new school. CIS (Canadian International School).
I am excited to be going there, though I will miss many of my students. Even though they graduate from Kindergarten and go to public school, many will return to Kid's College to continue their English studies. I told them I would still be living in Korea so they didn't cry. Although on Monday when it's the last time we''ll be seeing each other the waterworks will begin.
I will be giving the farewell address - my first speech of this sort. The speech is being written into Korean for their parents. Of course I have the class where all all of the parents speak excellent English so I will try not to fumble it too much. I have them singing two Beatles' songs: "Yesterday" and "Let it Be." With any luck it will go well, as we did not have much time to practice - just 2 days.
I have packed my suitcases as full as possible and the new school is going to put me up in a hotel for a night or two until my new apartment is ready. I expect a much smaller place than I have now. Many of the apartments in the city are smaller and less well kept.
Not a lot of touristy stuff as winter here was fairly cold and I always found myself doing the little life things. Sorry no pictures this time.
Have a great week everyone,
